Instructions and Help about Will Form 5495 Concerning

It may not look like it, but I'm creating one of the strongest and most versatile materials on earth: graphene. You've probably heard buzz about it. Graphene made big waves back in 2004 and it's been in science news ever since. - There was a global race for graphene, and it's not just limited to one thing. It has potential for mind-blowing technology, like bulletproof armor, graphene circuitry, ultralight airplanes, graphene medicine, and even a space elevator. However, not all of these promises have been fulfilled. - Engineers have gone from making graphene one flake at a time to producing it in bulk. Graphene does exist, and the graphene revolution may already be in motion. - Graphene is just carbon, like coal, graphite, or diamond. The difference lies in how the carbon atoms are bonded together, forming a single atom sheet. It has a unique hexagonal structure, similar to chicken wire. The bonds between the carbon atoms are extremely strong. - In 2004, researchers in the UK discovered that they could produce graphene using simple tools like graphite and tape. They won a Nobel Prize in 2010 for their discovery. Today, graphene is used in many applications, but it hasn't completely replaced other materials. - Philip Ball, a reporter, explains that new technologies take time to develop and integrate into everyday life. Graphene must not only be better than existing technology, but significantly better to displace current materials. - Verbeck materials is a company that is making progress with graphene mass production. They have developed graphene powders that can be used in various industrial and consumer products, such as RFID tags, clothing, and rubber. They have also created graphene-based inks for printing on fabrics, enabling the production of wearable electronics. - Graphene has promising applications in high-temperature and high-strength environments, like outer space. It is expected to...
